Keloid surgery and postoperative radiation
Radiation may be discussed as an adjuvant after excision for selected keloids. It is not simply a generic add-on: timing, dose, technique, location and individual risk considerations belong in a specialist discussion.
What to understand
Because radiation involves distinct benefits and risks, this page is intentionally framed as appointment preparation rather than a treatment recommendation.
Questions worth asking
- Why are you recommending postoperative radiation in my case?
- What is the proposed timing and schedule after surgery?
- What short- and long-term risks should I understand?
- Who coordinates the surgeon and radiation team?
